Goodbyes of New Beginnings

Some goodbyes are difficult to render. Some goodbyes are no goodbyes after all. Some goodbyes are signals of new beginnings. We knew there would be a day to say it. We knew there would be a season for the reason. We knew we would all part ways soon. We knew we have to prepare to sustain. And we know we will still miss you. But lest did we know it would soon be time. Lest did we know some of you will slip away with the sunset of 2019. Lest did we know that these goodbye strands were necessary for a newer beginning. Lest did we know that 2019 would soon expire. Today, your family & friends wail, Today, your workmates & classmate weep, Today, your loved ones & well-wishers grieve. But tomorrow they may heal and continue to live. Tomorrow, we will adjust and relive the essence of life while reaching out to others. As we reminiscence memories of this decade. As we remember encounters with stunning souls, we have a duty to prepare for tomorrow. Some goodbyes ar

JANUARY TO DECEMBER

We have heard intriguing news of new beginnings from January to January. We were told frivolous jokes of our begging state from January to February. And yet from January to March, we've matched the transitional tricks of our Master's shadows. From January to April, we've argued our approaches to advance the averse averages in our debts. From January to May, we marvelled at God's miraculous ways of our merciless murky meandering moves. From January to June, we juggled and survived the trauma of needless perennial casualties of avoidable disasters. From January to July, we've judged the jingoistic limping of our economy with some jovial justification of why jetting off to borrow was best.  From January to August, we've adjusted the distasteful grief in our creed of greed which still bleeds the many blessings of our nation. From January to September, we struggle to step and stumbled on the stables in our salutations. From January to October, we've org

Our Families

People are people essentially because of people. People are found almost everywhere because there are people who are supportive and still cares The essence of human organic solidarity implied above is better expressed in our family setting. Thus, as a vital fulcrum, the family network for many Afrikan people is the bedrock of our foundation. It is an integral school and a crucial support system that still connects and binds us together. With the nuclear family being the most common, there are millions of households with diverse family structures. Although there is no perfect family, the modern family setting is challenged and attacked from several fronts.  In fact, it is instructive to note that the upsurge of vices in our society could have a direct link to the weakness in our family setting. To build a strong sustainable and responsive world,  the place of resilient families firmly grounded in values cannot be toyed with. To train people willing to serve, there is the need t

Burden of Wishes

One thing that might inundate our ears in this season is nice decent wishes of goodness. Yes! It's reasonable to be bombarded with these wishes from friends and loved ones. It's even possible to feel the pressures of these wishes breathing through our resolutions. The wishes expressed as a strong desire or hope for something that may or may not probably happen, or for the betterment of our lives in the areas of health and progress among others, generally requires action or a commitment to act. This does not mean, I am discounting the power of the choicest words in the wishes. But to confirm the fact that we've got work to do in every wish, desire, hope, intention, longing, and yearning. Basically, the beauty of these wishes carries a burden of responsibility to work to ensure their fruition. On this note , Dear Reader, kindly permit me to humbly wish you well in your endeavours. Allow me to wish you good health now and in the coming year. Let me also wish you inne

Gift of A Smile

Special occasions come for us to relive our worth. Lovely moments remind us of this basic imperative. Besides existence, Health is the greatest gift to have. Although, Patience is the greatest quality to have, Contentment is the greatest wealth to keep. With the precious gift of life, kindly give yourself the gift of five minutes of introspection in gratitude for everything. Keep off your worries and give yourself the gift of self-love, care, and optimism. Surround yourself with enough creativity, laughter, music, dance, leisure and other artistic activities. Like the stars adorning the sky, kindly wear that beautiful smile for all that you have become. And do give permanence to your words by being your best in all your dealings. Cheers to you. Greetings from me to you. ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ26/12/19

A Season's Greetings

Amidst the correct carols choruses, Beyond the commemoration of this celebration,  And besides the cheerful wishes, May the reason for the season never escape us. May we reach out to others more and work together for greater peace May we care to lessen the creed of greed, and chaos that encourages needless deaths. And may we be more compassionate and concerned about the little little things of life. I wish you the best of this season. Remain Blessed and Stay Safe.  Greetings ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ25/12/19

A Good Name

What's in a name that people should hear? What's in your name that confers honour on you? What's in a name that bestows power on the bearer?  A good name breathes a unique identity on us. A bad name comes with it's different cloak too. Whatever is in a name? Whatever meaning your name might carry? Regardless of the burdens or privileges in your name; the fact is that names bestow responsibility on bearers. Names create continuity and extend divinity to bearers. It is certain that we all have unique names. Names that may sound strange, distinct, familiar, funny, interesting and yet beautiful. But a good name blesses our memory with quality smiles. Though I might not know the real meaning of your name, what I do know is that there are purposes and duties in our names, which challenges us to live in a certain way.  So let's find these purposes and live them. Yes! You can change your name if it does not resonate with the true purpose of your quest. But mi

Good Expectation

We had high hopes of having a wonderful meal during one of the Christmas in the village. Then the big fat fowl we put under the basket for the feast escaped and we were miserably disturbed. But somehow, luck smiled on us when we rearrested the fowl after a hot chase. I honestly didn't know how to explain myself, since we were asked to fetch water from the stream but we decided to play around the house, which made the sacrificial fowl escaped. Similarly, in life, we all subtly expect things to go untoward especially at crucial moments. But like the weather, plans can change midway. And the outcome can be something else. We sometimes fret and burden ourselves with what if we just stayed put and didn't act. We may face many disappointments in life but a good expectation is to expect the best and yet expect nothing. We should hold on tightly to our values and keep faith in our focus on the goal. So kindly, stay resolute and true to yourself, And be cheerful and careful.

Thank You

A year ago, someone was happy. Someone was sad, a year ago. Somebody is grateful for some support you gave them a year ago. Another is happy for your thoughtfulness. It's possible that someone still grieves about an episode that they wished never happened. It's probable that though the competition to live is tasking, somebody is delighted you were there. In our survival match in life, And beyond our bread and butter issues, Encouragement is vital in this interconnected web. So this started with an idea. The thought to reach out. The desire to stay connected with you. And though I might have lost count of it, I wish to thank you for reading these messages. So, I specially dedicate this 1000th message published on my blog to you. Thank you for your interest and support. I admire you and wish to remind you in this season that you are the reason I say people are people because of people. Thank you. Greetings ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ21/12/19

Traffic Tales

The Calabash Cheers

Image
A light-brownish Calabash Is the love of many homes It is the cup for many mouths, And a friend of many traditional drinks, It is also a lad to many patrons at the village bar. Somehow it's uncharitable towards shaky hands. It is uncaring to those with blurred vision. And those with wobbling holds. A Calabash essentially deserve care. With it's multiple utility, It's amazing how the Calabash Should be stranded in this case, Of offending the creative city drinkers Who prefer to acquire transparent cups. But whatever the case, Calabash keep secrets, Of the song styles of the xylophone, It carefully hides its content from others, But shows it to the occupier of the sky, The Calabash is a valuable custodian of the goodies of it's patrons, However, the clash of intoxicating mixtures cannot be blamed on the loyal spirit of the Calabash. Yet, a good defence, Is to try holding it with care and style. Yes! Hold your Calabash with care,

Keep Your Peace

Take care of your own emotions. Take care of your temperament especially when trouble brew. Take care of your words when the current of anger blows swiftly through your heart. Take care of your heartbeats when unexpected events or matters come to the fore. Sometimes it's good to hold your fire and listen to yourself a bit. Other times, it best you keep your peace and stability in silence. But in all, kindly keep a sane balance of your life with a smile. Don't expect to be understood always, Nevertheless, make it a point to communicate your needs and desires clearly. As trying to survive and thrive, kindly remember to be good. Redemption Era

But having gone through this day, it's my fervent hope that  you'll never imprisoned yourself by any perception or preconception. I Wish We Knew

I wish I knew, I wish you knew, I wish we all knew, The essence of this circle. I wish I know I wish you know, I wish we all know, The truths in these confusion. I wish I knew, I wish you knew, I wish we all knew, The types of sleep. I wish I knew, I wish you knew, I wish we knew, Where the souls goes? When the soul leaves? And the truth about life. I wish we all knew, The dynamics in these wishes. I wish we all knew the inconsistencies in the shades. I wish we all knew The relevance of our tradition.  I wish we knew, The value of our unique identity And live the duty of these wishes in time. 14/12/19 Community Centre, Kudje-Buem

Reflection on Transitions

Image
The experience of growing up in the village and tasting the city life offers one varied views on life. Many of us might have experienced the transitions and the bliss that comes with it. But as we live in interesting times of challenges and controversies, it is good to think through some of our actions and approaches. As dynamic as our cultures and society maybe, I am convinced that for far too long we have inherited foreign forms of development, lifestyle dressing, eating habits, economic, health, religion,  governance, and education systems as well as our value system without necessarily marrying it to our traditional ones. In spite of their merits, we are aware of the heavy toll these developments have had on the vitality of our own ways, of our identity and of our self-confidence, and self-worth.  I am very much aware some may disagree with these suppositions, but I am equally convinced that to make meaningful progress as a people, we must rediscover our value system

A Mission Worth Living

Image
There are some manoeuvres that take us to places. The detours on this journies are a necessary component. Yet, their valuable reasons and lessons are rare. It is possible some are only existing and not living. It is likely many are wasting away their delight and dignity, while others might even be unhappy with this gift of life. But are we to worry endlessly in this space? Are we to discount our relevance in this course? Certainly not. Having come this far, we have the right to live.   However, beyond living as survivors in the trenches of this journey, we must thrive. This is because our mission in life essentially involves adapting ways to thrive with some passion, dissension, compassion, dimension, and propulsion for progression with some unique styles. Therefore, as we rally our efforts to live, may we never forget our utmost mission to be good, with a good sense of humour. Greetings from me to you. ©KYB ✍10/12/19

Another Opportunity

There is so much we can learn about ourselves when cultivate a healthier and more humane relationship with ourselves, our environment and our God.   In exercising the grace of this day, may we endeavour to render a good service required of us. May our efforts today contribute to helping the world smile again. Take care. Remain Blessed. ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ9/12/19

Beauty of Humility

Image
There were others here before we were born. People lived, worked and walked here. And others will continue to live when we vacate this space, that is why humility is necessary. If we critically look at things, we would realise that those who failed were not terrible after all. And those who succeeded were not exceptional or entirely deserving, that is why we have to be humble. In this competitive era, sometimes we feel it's our right to grab everything, forgetting creating a win-win situation is better. We sometimes forget that all that we seek are transient or temporal There is a greater need today to recognise humility as not only a virtue in the domain of thought but a vital assert that keeps us in tune, fresh and anew. ©KYB ✍8/12/19

Creative Habits

Are we losing ourselves because of work? Has our interconnectedness suffered because of our busy schedules? Well, many of us are caught up in work and desire to make enough money. In our quest to survive through these hard times, we have inadvertently lost touch with ourselves. We are not only missing out on the very essence of our lives but we have also robbed ourselves of delight in leisure and recreation. There is a need today, to consciously make it a consistent practice to dive into our creativity. It is critical to make time to connect with our being in order to relieve our purposes. So kindly untangle your mind from all the noises, confusions, and troubles. Gently breathe in and out for your relaxation. Be excited about the present moments. Train your heart to recreate happiness, And focus on what really matters. Wishing you a blissful weekend. Greetings ©KYB ✍7/12/19

DEMOCRACY OF ELECTION

๐Ÿ•ธ Did I hear the Democrats belch? Did I hear the Patriots chuckle? Or did I hear the hissing of the Nationalists? We have heard and overheard their loud pleas for votes by the various voices. We have listened to their hourly sweet persuasive words and reasons in our cottages, hamlet, villages, ghettos, towns, and cities. We debated the possibility and impossibility of their views and propositions. And they all begged for our votes or endorsement after telling us how they uniquely love us while mocking and exposing the sins of their opponents. But what none of them is telling us is their true motive for seeking power or wanting to stay on in power. The terrible truth, however, is that our leaders are seeking to be Lords instead of being the sensitive Servants they ought to be. A lot of interests come to play in the scheme of affairs, and I doubt if this democracy of elections is actually helping us address the real challenges we face as a society. It is my prayer that we gr

Farmers Sweat, Farmers Hope

There are many untold stories from the farm. A lot of the stories of care for the seedlings are still not told. The copious sweats and efforts of the hopes of farmers are missed to the final consumer. The hustle and tussle of carting the goods from the farm to the market are sometimes untold. The feelings and the reality of getting returns on the investment on the farm are unsaid. The overwhelming dose of fertilisers and pesticides used on the farm is sometimes unsaid. The poor quality of soil and the burden of many farmers still using crude technology is untold. The farmer's dilemma of GMOs, unstable prices, diseases, climate change, and post-harvest losses are often oblivious to many at the table. On a day like this, we all ought to pause to reflect on how far our agriculture has come 35 years after introducing the award schemes for our farmers in Ghana.  There is no doubt that trends in the agriculture industry today are fast changing.  It is a challenge that offers t

Every Smile๐Ÿ˜Š

A smile is worth keeping because it's precious. A smile conveys an unsaid hope in these moments. Though there may be many shades of smiles, profound smiles exalt our bonds. I am oblivious of the hurting scenes of your history, and your harrowing experiences; But I am glad you are able to wear a smile. I am happy you are able to rise up to the task. I am pleased you've mustered the courage to live. I am thankful you are able to show up with a smile to face your challenges. I am gratified for those who looked out for us. I am grateful for those who went the extra mile to care. I am thankful for the opportunity we get to do what we do every day for humanity. I am appreciative of the support you give to others from time to time. I am grateful for every leaf that waves at us; For every ray of sunshine that brightened our path; For every sweet-smelling rose and other flowers; For the precious air we breathe in this mile; For the stars, clouds, and the various weather

The Butterfly Story

Image
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to squeeze its body through the tiny hole. Then it stopped as if it couldn't go further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bits of cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily but it had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch it, expecting that any minute the wings would enlarge and expand enough to support the body. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around. It was never able to fly. What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand: The restricting cocoon and the struggle required by the butterfly to get through the opening was a way of forcing the fluid from the body into the wings so that it would be ready for flight once that was achieved. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our live

Something New

In each of the latest moments is the visit Of the last of the embers. With the coming of December, Comes renewed hope of many prospects. December walks in with new cheers of gratitude. December is certainly a decider. Decide to be fair, just and calm. Decide to keep the peace we desire our future to remember in this December. Wonderful Moments

It may be unnerving to break your routine. But take a break from your routine, by changing your environment and activities. Make some quality time for yourself, Embrace those quiet moments you watch the sparkling rays of the sun glides along that scenery. Treasure the peace you encounter in these brief counts as you rejuvenate yourself. Connect with the essence of your being, your God and continue to relive the affection of nature. Appreciate the delight of these beautiful moments and tell me the rewards of solace in solitude. Kindly make this day count by counting your blessings with fond gratitude to the Most of High for how far He's brought us. Remain Blessed. ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ30/11/19

Beauty of Accidents

Although we all imagine an incident-free life, we all know they happen daily. Yes, they occur in many moments when we least expect them. Often time, we spend too much time trying to prevent problems and troubles. Other times we prefer ignoring or avoiding these challenges. This is not to say we should not do anything about things we can prevent but to stop worrying about those ones beyond our control. Being cautious and careful mostly keeps us from being embroiled in many troubles. But how would we be able to appreciate the beauty of accidents if all we do is to avoid them? How would we learn if nothing happens? Sometimes, things just happen for a reason—and it's time for us to let them be. And beyond asking why things happen, we have to recognise that these things must happen anyhow for us to reflect, learn, relearn, rethink and to renew in order to relive our life experience. Perhaps if we study our history critically we might see traces of these happenings. However,

With an Open Heart

Sweep up the dust of past negative thoughts. Avoid harsh words and realign with your core tenets to be productive. Wear your determination as a badge of honour and delve into what is working fortune. With an open heart incline your hopes to obtain the rewards of the graceful moment. I wish you well. Remain Blessed. ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ28/11/19

Reasonable Confidence

It's increasingly clear that reasonable confidence in our work is needed in life. However, having faith in ourselves and leveraging our abilities to excel is critical. That is why putting in our best is essential. Counting our blessings is vital. And taking a deep breath after a long day is important. Your efforts this day deserves appreciation. Afrika Must Unite

Is it a curse that our peculiar problems keep popping up? Is there any deadly spell threatening the restoration of sanity and dignity of our home and hope? So how come we are where we are now after all we have learned from our common past? Could Kalundi Serumaga 's statement that the "Three centuries of such bloody-mindedness (slave trade) and another century of direct colonial enclosure left Africa dazed, confused, and dominated by a social class bearing a wholly warped mindset? Or did we forgot Steve Biko's advise that “the greatest weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed”? The Ugandan born Joseph P. Ochieno once stated that "The humiliation of Africa with the help of Africans, the plunder of Africa by Africans and the torture of Africans aided by Africans sometimes compels me to wonder - 'who will save Africa from outside forces when we cannot save it from ourselves?'" And I ask who will save Afrika? Indeed, in his re

Wonderful Gift

For every night that we have survived; For the beauty of another wonderful morning; For each dream that turned into reality; For the warmth of another sunshine in this day; For all the moments we breathed fresh air; For the very gift of life that we embrace again; We cannot say much but thank the Most High. So with little events that turned out to be miracles; With friends that turned into families; With strangers who inspire us to keep walking; With unpleasant experiences turned into blessings; With encounters that turned into opportunities; We appreciate the goodness of people. As a beautiful soul, ready to thrive today, May your efforts reach beyond and pour the balm of consolation on the wounds of humanity. May your words convey peace and build others. And may your day be blessed. I wish you well on this wonderful day. Take care. Greetings ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ20/11/19

Promoting Fairness

We heard several arguments justifying why between us and them we are so different and can't think or even work together. And this has heightened the mistrust and stereotypes we have against each other. However, I believe true concern for others’ well being, a fair appreciation of their challenges and a genuine effort to support, can greatly help reduce the fear and suspicion existing among people, groups, and nations. Besides valuing and caring for people, as well as ensuring that no one is excluded in accessing the basic needs of life, the effective promotion of fairness, openness, and transparency in our dealings can also give rise to trust and friendship. BETTER EDUCATION

Education without a goal is meaningless. Education without a deliberate attempt to form good people is a failure. Education without the right moral keys to direct our affairs is a disaster. Education without the right content to inspire people to love and serve the good of a nation is a nonstarter. Education that only focuses on success without the necessary tools to examine our shortcomings, and think of finite ways of addressing our odd ways is problematic. Education that makes us dependent on pamphlets, handouts and makes us first-grade copycats is not only worrying but dehumanising. Education that makes us half baked intellectuals who are conscious of perfect result from a knee jerk approach to an ailing education that lacks strategic ways of addressing issues is sickening and disturbing. And it is not surprising that our system has trained self-seeking, greedy, dishonest intellectual thieves, who are hailed by a somewhat gullible public of equal guilt. We need a holistic ed

ONE DAY

We were told to live one day at a time. We were encouraged to be prudent in life. But we know that not all days are the same. Not all days are like yesterday. There is always a unique day in our lives. And there might be that bad day of discomfort. There's also a birthday, a lucky day, a good day, a blessed day, beautiful day as well as a wonderful day and a judgement day. Yet, there could be a day of a single event. There are those memorable days. And there are unforgettable days. There are favourable days that we smile. There are sunshine days that we shine. Although we all have different experiences, But with similar routines in different geopolitical locations, the fact is that we are all blessed with the gift of life today. It's my hope that we appreciate this gift. It's my belief that we find the smiles in our duties. It's my prayer your strength is replenished. May you find the peace you seek one day. God bless. I wish you well. Greetings ©KY

I ADMIRE YOU

Is life all about the fun and excitement? Is it about the euphoria of winning and smiling? Or is it also about the delight of having money, and wielding a power? Certainly, there is more to life than meets the eye. But like the weather, I know it can be funny and tricky as well as blissful. I may not know all that you have been through; I may not know the entire details of your intricate story. But I know there were times we were overwhelmed by things and didn't understand the happening. There were days we wished things were a bit better There were months we might be broke and didn't know how to scale through. There were moments we thought we have lost it. There were occasions we were disappointed & let down. There were instances our energy levels were low and our zeal to act was down. There were nights we wept and asked why. There were periods our good intentions were misconstrued or misrepresented. But in all these ups and downs, And through those low and

Levels of Commitment

With our many interests and responsibilities in life, there is a great need to commit to the process to make progress. Whether we like it or not our level of commitment will be tested from time to time in any endeavour. Indeed, like the capricious desert, life will constantly test our levels of commitment and concentration on the very things that matter. The tests may come in the forms of temptations, trials, and tribulations or in our peculiar challenges. It could be the litmus to assess our worth, transform and perfect us. It is a fact that our experiences might differ but even though we can't fully comprehend all the happenings, w e have a duty to learn to listen more, learn from our mistakes and keep a positive hope God our Creator. Maybe we should evaluate our commitment each day and reflect on how we are attempting to meet the demands of our hope. Maybe we should assess those commitments that are killing us and robbing us of living throbbing the essence of life. May

Remember To Live

Reflecting on the intricate path of life, It dawned on me that what really matters in life basically got to do with: How well we lived? How well we loved? How well we learned or unlearned? Therefore in remembering to live our lives; Perhaps it's necessary to review the past with gratitude and to acknowledge whoever had a part to play in our lives. In living our uniqueness in this moment of grace, maybe we should appreciate and care for our lives. And in the honouring the dignity of our worth, even as we look confidently into the future, we have an eternal duty to work together to make our world a better place. Thank God for the gift of our lives. Thank You for your consistent efforts. Thanks to everyone who is still striving to live. TO MY FIRST GIRLFRIEND.

I didn't have the choice to even choose you in the beginning. I didn't have a say in you keeping me for nine months. I didn't have the privileged of being consulted by you and the handsome young man in my conception. I didn't know the 'wahala' you both went through by keeping me for all those days of months. I didn't know the uncomfortable posture you've adopted to keep me safe. I didn't know the funny feelings you had just to see my nativity in the Village Republic. But all know is that God chose us for a purpose. All I know is that you're the gateway to my being on earth. All I know is that I entered this space through your benevolence in partnering with the young handsome man and God to co-create me. All I know is that you nursed me to walk and talk. All I know is that your kitchen never lacked good meals that I fed on.  All I know is that you cared but never pampered my naughty ways. All I know is that you were determined to give

Novena at Noon

Proper names of nouns nailed necessary Notes, On Notices of news in Natures' Newspapers, But when the nine neurons neared the noon sea, It cast a long nostalgic naughty net on the November sky again . And again a novena at noon sang the never ending notes of gratitude to all. So this novena remembers the tenacity of souls on arrival on this pilgrimage. It remembers the delight in the names of infants. It remembers the many dribbling stories of days. The noon novena was peaceful and beautiful. It was a serene and yet shrouded in mystery. It was a mix blessing conditions pieced together with many anecdotes of different disciplines. The novel novena captures the rough sails under the patronage of many captains. Their drills of discipline paid off in a many ways. So today if we have survived the vagaries of the weather; If we can still live the love of yesteryear, With little or no supervision to climb high, Then those involved in these engagements,  deserve our due re

Every Moment

Every moment of your life is worth living, so live it to the fullest. Every good action is worth taking, so act now and don't regret later. Every good decision is a prerequisite for us, so don't make yours trying to please or impress anyone. Every good idea is worth exploring, so explore it and never fill sorry for doing so. What you eat is vital, so take care of your diet and eat more fresh organic foods: vegetables, fruits, and raw grains. Your health is important, so exercise and don't be too indulgent in pleasurable things. Your life is precious, so keep calm, worry less, reflect on how better you can improve on situations. Your mind-set is key, so keep positive thoughts of life and hope for the best. Yes, we need to get serious in life, but find a reason to laugh more with authentic smiles. We need to get busy because boredom could be terrible, but let's keep an active network of relations, even as we do more of those activities we love.  Money is

In Every Meal

Image
Credit: Drange Marius photo Can you imagine a hungry man smiling? Can the army march on an empty stomach to war? Or can we afford to make merry when hungry? It's a fact that almost all of us need some food. Yes! We mostly must eat something to grow. We all must feed ourselves to get the needed energy to perform our daily tasks. But in the preparation of every meal, we often forget the farmer who tilled the land and planted the food.  We sometimes forget the people involved in the food chain of process, before for our mothers, wives, and caterers to buy the foodstuffs. It's a fact that we seldom acknowledge our farmers and everyone involved in carting the goods to our various market centres. Credit : Adele Payman It's sad how we lowly reward these farmers through whose toil and efforts these foods grow. It's unjust how we collectively allowed the middlemen to continue to shortchange our farmers year-in-year-out. And it's appalling how some

A Grain of Gratitude

There are those who were here before us. There are those people on whose shoulders we climbed on or ride on to look into the future. It's possible we still walk under the shadow of their magnanimity or effect. Today, I remember in a special way our parents, grandparents, the traditional birth attendants, midwives, and everyone who ensured our safe arrival here. Can we recall our aunties, uncles, siblings, and neighbours or anyone who supported our parents to care for us when we were kids? Can we also recount the experiences we had with our teachers, mentors, and those who even went the extra mile for us? To the various caregivers and everyone who spotted the qualities in us and decided to support in a way, you are not forgotten. In the spaces of our linkages expressed in the dynamic ships of our bonds and in our various communities, the individuals involved deserve our gratitude. To those silent special individuals, (often known and unknown to us), who constantly pray for u

ฦnuja Script

It’s easier to overlook what we have and excessively worry about what we don't have. Sometimes it's vital to appreciate the little things that bind us together. It's good to list the little successes. It's worth counting the efforts of all those who touched our lives. It's necessary to remember those who cared to whisper a word or two into our ears. It's significant to appreciate everyone who shared a few of their lives with us. It's crucial to commend those who said spoke into ourselves either provocatively, prophetically or casually. It's important to celebrate everyone who showed concerned and encouraged us on this journey. It's significant to acknowledge the people who saw in us potentials even when we didn't know anything, and went the extra mile to inspire us. It's critical to thank those who went out of their way to share their unique stories with us. We have been able to make much progress through those moments of valuable c

Conversation

Conversations are essential in our lives. Some conversation can be changing.  Other talks could be subtle pointers for progress or stagnation.  We often learn through these conversation. Some ideas of some these conversations reflects in our daily decisions, choices, actions. Our principles, values, habits and lifestyle, to a large extent show the true intent in our deeds. With an inner spiritual gift of goodness, we are required to strive to bear good fruits in our actual deeds this day. May God Bless and keep you under His care.

November Sky

The sparkling sun adorns the sky again. The beauty of another grace creeps up with it. A new energy stream again in the November sky. A new awakening births a promising day. Looking into the sky, we remember many events. In one moment, we recount the efforts of many souls. In another moment, we remember the sacrifices of our ancestors. In November we remember the arrivals and departures of men with valour. And we also remember the need for a heartfelt Thanksgiving. We may also remember the need to retune and recommit to our values in order to relive the essence of our purpose. May the blessings hanging above, never depart from you. God bless you abundantly. Greater Unity

We are all unique and have different tastes. We differ marginally from each other, We manifest these differences: In our daily dealings and efforts; In our quests and interests; In our affections and relationships; In our styles and approaches, In our families and communities, In our preferences and positions; In our cultures, parties, beliefs, and identity. And in our perspectives, understanding, and how we even practice our religions. Likewise, our needs, expectations, and experiences make us appreciate or value things differently. But however different we may be: Must we tell the world we fight terrible fights? Must we tell the world we cannot disagree to agree? Must we tell the world about our petty squabbles on air? Must we tell the world about the envoys of envy and jealousy renting spaces in our midst? Must we shout at each other with higher decibels before proving a point? Must we tell the world our mission is truncated because of mistrust? Must we tell the

TRUE LIBERATION

It was a forum of ideal ideas then. It was a gathering of Interesting interests. It was an assembly of thoughtful thoughts. It was a litany of contextual complaints. It was basically a forum questioning our questionable integrity. Sometimes, I don't want to believe it was another pertinent forum belittled by our pettiness. I don't want to believe it was another forum of concerns that does not compel a corresponding duty for a change. I don't want to believe it was another assembly that amplified our correct Anglicise eloquence of our challenges, and does nothing about the many cases of thievery and intransigence in our body politic. It's a bold attempt to confront a peculiar political question with seriousness; It's proper to talk tough or nicely about the hiccups in our democracy but tell you what, it's not enough to just describe these challenges with beautiful rehearsed English phrases. We must be more responsible and responsive in politics and issu

God Save Us

Is politics of pettiness our plight? Is politics of propaganda our interest? Is politics of patronage our bane? Is politics of pride our problem? Is politics of persecution our creed?  Is politics of pulling others down our anthem? Is politics of greed and corruption killing us? If politics of progress is what we seek, then let's work at it seriously. Indeed, if God is for us no one can separate us from His love. But if we continue misbehaving in our quest to attain   politics of possibilities, then we will perish in politics of naughty  perils. May God intercede and save our souls. May God be with us even as we walk in the path of politics of performance today.   Remain blessed.๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ™ #KYB Sign#™

Lest We Forget

It's a fact that we may face one of two challenges in this life. Some can be benign and subtle, others can be loud and conspicuous. It's sometimes convenient to apportion blames and deny reality or even give up.  But lest we forget our worth as a people in trying times. Lest we forget the dignity of life and treasures in each person. Lest we forget to respect and protect life. Lest we forget the deadly sting of our sins. Lest we forget our hope to live and grow. Lest we forget our responsibility to lead worthy lives. Lest we forget our resolve to give off our best this day. Lest we forget the truth that time is precious and that we have to value it. Lest we forget to make effective use of time this day. Lest we forget our duty to take care of ourselves and our environment. Lest we forget our commitment and duty to be good. Lest we forget the dream killers and the amulets in their smiles. Lest we forget the burden our constant complains places on our convictions.

Some Days

Some conversations are essential on some days. Some introspection and reflections are necessary. Sometimes we need these moments to relink and reconnect to ourselves and others. There are some days you feel the urge you should.  Other days too you feel like you shouldn’t.  Although some days you just don’t how, It's necessary to retune and refocus. It's a fact that the momentum you feel is real. So don’t hesitate to dream big when it comes to transformation. Be calm and collected when unsure, but never stop moving or making progress. As we stand at the threshold of change, may we be ever prepared to take steps in order to make profound transformation. Some days we just to remind ourselves of our values, our common wealth and the need to contribute to the well-being of others and our community as a whole. May your day be blessed. Building the Future Together

Image
The need to cooperate, dialogue, work together and care for one another is a relevant ingredient to building the future we want. In spite of the many stormy tides on the sea of our sails, sweeping across the globe ๐ŸŒŽ, we still have recourse to value and respect each other and do the needful things to safeguard our planet. UN flag by John Isaac With the theme: "Climate Action for Peace" to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the U.N Day, we are individually invited to pay attention to the importance of combatting climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world. It is interesting to note that in our interlinked and interrelated world, we are all affected by each other's actions or inactions on how we use, manage and preserve our environment. And that is the more reason we should be concerned about Climate change issues and work together to address the clear threats it poses to international peace and security. That said we still need

Value Your Identity

The calm waves breathed another brief stroke of the beautiful breeze that morning. It's uneventful until one tall lanky sunburnt fellow walks to the gates of the linguist's house.  The linguist, an affable friendly son of Kwesibankyรฉ, is a returnee with the accolade of a polyglot who has his way with languages. I was a bit surprised how the stranger, was able to locate our Linguist's house. And his ability to to locate his way to the linguist gates reduces our guesswork as we thought he was a regular guest. But from the strange aura surrounding him, signals that the man has news for our ears. Before everybody could begin the day, they directed a certain amount of attention to observe the man from a calculated distance. This man who shouted agoo! Agoo!! at the gates, before being ushered into the house by one of the linguist's sons, after taking three steps ceased to move. He stood in the middle of the house as if being commanded by the Gods of the land. Then we saw h

Balance & Moderation

Confucius once observed that “to go beyond is as wrong as to fall short.” Therefore, in our walk today, let's seek balance and moderation in all our endeavours. Remain Blessed. Greetings☘๐Ÿ‡ ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ 22/10/19

Neighbours

Like the raindrops, they come around. Like the dewfall, they caress and touch the air. And like the leaves on the tree, they shake & wave. They are ever-present in our many spaces. And yet, they are essentially our neighbours. Our ecology is enhanced with their presence. Our habitat is blessed with their personalities. Our encounters in various life events enhance our experiences with these neighbours. The connections in our relationship and communities are even exemplified by their actions. There may be genuine reasons to exchange pleasantries or other courtesies in our engagements. There may be interesting reservations in the revelations of some reflective reviews in our relationships, However, in these reasonable counts of our responsibility and resourcefulness, we can never i gnore our neighbours. That we are interconnected individuals, And that no man is an island or stands alone, We have a duty to respect & appreciate our neighbours, Even as we handle the l

Dignity of Our Efforts

It's true we all need light and life to live this grace. We need energy to navigate through the day. We need knowledge and wisdom in order to direct our sails on this sea of our voyage. We also need good insight to connect the dots between the many intricate linkages. However, knowing who we are is confidence. Understanding our nature is our identity. Identifying our worth is giving life to our dignity. Activating our conscious mind is the real deal. But delivering on what we advertise and promise is a sign of our commitment.  The certainty of our capabilities and positive assessment of our qualities is necessary. The energy we bring to each day is a critical factor that inspires our sense of purpose. Our intention to excel is a possibility but let our work speak for itself. It is my prayer, we are emboldened and proactive in this call. Keep the Peace Greetings ©KYB ✍๐Ÿฟ14/10/19

Be Interested

Can you feel the changes in the air? Can you see the hanging clouds above? Can you still perceive the aggressive voices in this natural mystic, hovering over our heads? Whether you feel it or you don't see or perceive it, Whether the signs are not so clear to you by now, Fact is: there are many happenings in the moments, With dribbling voices of various people, Which signals an urgent need to pay attention. So in spite of all the good reasons to relax, In spite of your peculiar ups and downs, In spite of your stubborn resolve to keep walking, Please be interested in life. Be interested in the little things in life. Be interested in the precious moments of life. Be interested in the happenings in your area. Be interested in the people around you. Be interested in those you ceded power to in trust to cater to you. Be interested in the kind and content of education your children receive. Be interested in the kind of media you expose yourself and your family to. Be i
