Truth is that every moment of our lives here is important, in that we all have unique assignment to execute within a given time. That critical assignment could be gleaned from whatever creates the highest joy within us and those beautiful things we do effortlessly. But however long we live, we shall exit this space just as we arrived. I mean there is an eminent evening we must all await. I don't know when, where, how or even the hour. But what I do know is that it will certainly COME, however long we live in this space. So don't be surprised when mine comes in the next moment. Even as we make claims to our responsibilities from the duty bearers and those we blame often for systemic failures and ills in our society, may we look at what we can do in our little way to better our lot. In a world obsessed with the acquisition of material things, profiteering, consumerism and individualism, we sometimes overindulge in the alluring traps of sin as we stray from the Divine statutes. We often certify evil deeds by our surprising loud quietness, and even supervise or superintendent over some of these little little wrongs. And yet when things go wrong, we are the same people to point accusing fingers or blame others, because that has become a convenient convention. However, in calling for repentance, reformation, and renewal in our mindsets, attitudes and in our lives, we all have a vital duty to reexamine our lives, to see our shortcomings, rethink what we ought to do and embrace God's precepts. It's my prayer this day, that like the people of Nineveh (Jonah 3:1-5,10), who showed remorse for their misdeeds and repented, may we also repent from our wrongs.
