CRITICAL THINGS TO QUIT DOING

Image
It's an interesting fight that hot afternoon on our playground in the village.   It's in fact a continuation of an unfinished argument in school the previous Friday preceding the Saturday. But friends of Kosi and Eli who thought they're doing a ladies thing, incited them and even arranged a fight on that neutral grounds so that everybody will find their smoothness levels. The D-day came and the fight was interesting match to watch but our wrestler Kosi lost terribly. And even though we the promoters of Kosi had wanted a rematch to prove our point and enhance our bragging right Kosi was just not really for it. It turned out he was injured in the fight and had to think of the managing his pains. So he practically said no to us, his promoters. Many people find it difficult to say no because most of us are brought up with the mindset that quitting or saying no is a sign of weakness, a sign of defeat and make quitting an inappropriate thing to do in life. We are sc

FAIR FRIDAY

Image
Fair play is the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) programme to promote sportsmanship, prevent discrimination, reduce racism and use the game of football to make the world a better place. Fair play and competition are not mutually exclusive but complement each other. Also, Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) is a progressive media criticism organisation in New York, that monitors the excesses and lapses in the American media. With varied opinions on the subject of fairness, some say it's the right of the weakest. Others agree it helps maintain closeness and ensure social cohesion. While, some even say it's the basis on which law is founded. But do we have fairness in our world? Are we always fair to ourselves? Are we fair to each other? Sometimes we don't get what we fight for? Other times we don't get what we truly deserve even with our best effort in our daily contest and competition. Somehow we all cannot prove th

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANYTHING

Never underestimate the power of your vision. Never underestimate the power of faith. Never underestimate the power of prayer. Never underestimate the power of a united, And well-motivated focused team.  Never underestimate the effect your smile and warm words can have on others. Never underestimate the power of your imagination. Never underestimate the strength and wonders in your dreams and efforts. Never take for granted the power of positive conviction and believe in one's capabilities. Never take for granted the fact that you can walk and talk. Never take for granted the fact that you have life. Never take for granted the effect of your care and motivation. As long as you live, appreciate the gift of life. As long as you live, revere the giver of Life. As long as you relate with others, value and respect  all your relationships with man, and your environment. INTEGRITY

Image
Sometimes you may be justified in lowering your fire, Sometimes you may be right to stop doing the right things, Sometimes the temptation to quit doing the beautiful things might just be so inevitable. But just keep on doing what you ought to do. Keep on doing the right things,  even if nobody is watching you. Certainly one day, it will pay.

UNIQUE ZEAL

Your story is unique. Your strength is wondrous.  Your skill is special. Your speech is effective. So live in the abundance of this day and be a blessing. May God bless your unique zeal this day, especially as you live under His shadow of care. Take care. Greetings ‪#‎ KYB‬  Signs# ®

🇬🇭FORWARD MARCH🇬🇭

Several years ago, we the lucky ones selected to march for our school on the Independence Day Parade were very anxious to meet this day. We rehearsed and rehearsed. Yours sincerely even harassed Mama to buy those white socks and tasked her to mend my black shoes for the Day. We were more concern to showcase our marching skills, that I couldn't pay much attention when my stomach rumbled, signalling it needed fuel. And after managing to march, our DCE who took the salute, had a rather long speech that took ages to render. We were tired and some of my colleagues collapsed. Yes, they did. The water they gave us wasn't enough to quench my hunger, so I sneaked out of the queue to buy some ice-cream but I was caught and I guess that's why I never got selected to march in subsequent years. But every year my colleagues marched. In fact, ever since independence, school children and security officers have marched on 6th March. We've over marched the joy in our independen

PATRIOTIC CREED

LIBERATION A student once asked me: "Master which tribe do you belong to," I told him without mincing words that I am an Afrikan and a Ghanaian just like him. I didn't bother to question the intent of his question but guessed the answer satisfied his curiosity. Sometimes our allegiance to our selves, our families, our ethnic groups, our professional associations, or our various religious sects and political parties gradually sucks the relevance of our love for Ghana. The late Mrs. Theodosia Oko designer of the Ghana Flag   The greed in our creeds; the interests in our inquest; the burden in balancing the blessings in our unique diversity; the sins in our souls; the omissions in our mission; the cost of the connivance in our corrupt course, and our benign negligence in almost everything we do, seems to have molested our patriotic affection for our beloved country. In fact, our odd ways, seems to make a nonsense of the right practical ways of e
