It gives some a constant and gnawing pain in the pit of the stomach. Others drink more or smoke more because of it. It causes some people to be right on the edge of success and then sabotage their own efforts. It's killed more dreams and ruined more careers than all other causes combined. And it's been with us since the beginning. The Book of Genesis speaks of fear and it appears throughout the Bible, Torah and Koran. Who can forget the classic line from the Old Testament that was delivered by Job when he said, "That which I feared most has come upon me." Our tolerance of FEAR pampered by our daily lifestyle is cowardice. Our acceptance of unjust systems out of fear of making inevitable changes, makes us docile disciples. Many dreams have been strangled to death out of fear. Beautiful innovative endeavours have been truncated due to fear. A lot of us are living with regret because we have sadly allowed fear to dwarf our potentials. We all entertain certain amount of fear or fearful reverence, largely because of the processes we have been exposed to. Permit me to restate this reminder that you are Greater than your fears, because the Spirit that rest in you is a great one. Our tenacity of hope is a simple invitation to stay in touch with our relevant selves, listen to the salient truth in order to strike a strategic balance with the good and noise-loving tenants renting our hearts.
