Goodbyes of New Beginnings

Some goodbyes are difficult to render.
Some goodbyes are no goodbyes after all.
Some goodbyes are signals of new beginnings.

We knew there would be a day to say it.
We knew there would be a season for the reason.
We knew we would all part ways soon.
We knew we have to prepare to sustain.
And we know we will still miss you.

But lest did we know it would soon be time.
Lest did we know some of you will slip away with the sunset of 2019.
Lest did we know that these goodbye strands were necessary for a newer beginning.
Lest did we know that 2019 would soon expire.

Today, your family & friends wail,
Today, your workmates & classmate weep,
Today, your loved ones & well-wishers grieve.
But tomorrow they may heal and continue to live.
Tomorrow, we will adjust and relive the essence of life while reaching out to others.

As we reminiscence memories of this decade.
As we remember encounters with stunning souls, we have a duty to prepare for tomorrow.

Some goodbyes are in themselves new beginnings we have to explore.
Some goodbyes are an invitation to make the best of this moment and to enrich our future with solutions.

Thanks for being part of this decade.
Thanks for your efforts this year.
Thanks for your readiness to live in the future.

In our quest to satisfy our daily needs of what to eat and wear, we very often forget or give less attention to the very things that equally needs our care.  Sometimes our busy schedules in search of money or comfort are making us take little care of some pertinent things in our lives that we ought to care about.  Oftentimes, we also become too petty, bemoan and complain too much of our challenges of what's not done or what's still needed to do. Today, in seeking a balance, may we always value the little things like our faith, integrity, concern for the human family. May we ever desire to respect human dignity and be prepared to summon the energies we are blessed with, to make the positive impact we intend to make.
