WHO REALLY ARE WE?
It's a mild morning of a new year, when the beautiful beams of the sun smiled anew with a renewed golden hope. The anticipated exciting energy that accompanied the morning moments wasn't same in the Gbawe- Lapaz bound trotro bus I boarded that morning of 14 January 2024. The bus Conductor accused one passenger of not paying the fare. The well dressed fellow who spoke undiluted English defended himself stressing that he had paid earlier with Conductor giving him a change. The guy who got angry at the Conductor's insistence of non- payment asked: DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? DO YOU KNOW ME? The Conductor retorted: WHO ARE YOU? Is your father the President of Ghana? Masa pay me the fare and stop this Do you know me business oo. Although the matter was settled with another passenger offering to pay the fare, thoughts of DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM lingered on my mind for a while.
