WHISPERS OF INSPIRATION

Consistent efforts are necessary for our growth. Persistent strides are critical in bringing us closer to authentic development. But to achieve sustainable growth and development, we need creativity to navigate in the intemperate waters of our challenges. We need to access our past glories, which should pinch our innovative drive to adopt unique ways of sustaining growth.  We equally need the discipline to rethink our style in approaching things.  And to improvise some ingenious ways to enliven the old things we've been doing to make bigger gains or risk extinction.  May GOD bless us with that creative quest to infuse in the things we do. The experience of growing up in the village and tasting the city life offers one varied views on life. Many of us might have experienced the transitions and the bliss that comes with it. But as we live in interesting times of challenges and controversies, it is good to think through some of our actions and approaches. As dynamic as our cultures and society maybe, I am convinced that for far too long we have inherited foreign forms of development, lifestyle dressing, eating habits, economic, health, religion,  governance, and education systems as well as our value system without necessarily marrying it to our traditional ones. In spite of their merits, we are aware of the heavy toll these developments have had on the vitality of our own ways, of our identity and of our self-confidence, and self-worth.  I am very much aware some may disagree with these suppositions, but I am equally convinced that to make meaningful progress as a people, we must rediscover our value system

Life is more rewarding with consistent renewal of our good values and practices. In the reception of this grace of indulging in God's mercy, may we endeavour to repent from our odd ways, watch our appetite for material or immaterial things supposed to quench our excessive drive for leisure and pleasure. May we strive to minimise our human tendencies to be greedy, angry, self seeking, insincere, dishonest, unrepenting, and unwilling to be effectively responsive in the discharge of our responsibilities. May we also endeavour to fast from the distractive noises attacking our spirituality and damaging our relationship with ourselves, with others and with  God the most High. May we renew our hearts with cheerful attitudes to Listen more to the rhythms of life, Care more for one another, rekindle our prayers and share the gift of this agape love with others.
