As the year draws to a close, Another new year beckons with much hope. There is no need belabouring the annual rituals of reviews, overviews, counter views, and reflections or stalk taking exercises to measure what we set out to do this year, in order to draw new resolutions. By now we all have a fair idea of what we have been able to accomplish, where we have fallen short and what we couldn't achieve. Whatever the outcome, please don't be discourage but be encouraged to do your little best. Indeed, we all had our fair share of ups and downs, happy and sad moments, just as we had defining moments and minor moments with some minuses. We might have had huge appetite and big expectations to do A, B and C this year. And I know there were even moments we nearly succumb to frustration of our inability to meet set goals. In the course of the year, we might have also incurred some loses in our various endeavours, with some of us loosing relatives or friends in the year. In fac

We all have special stories to tell in our efforts to weave through the intricate paths of life. Indeed, yesterday, a very young energetic friend in his 90s invited me to witness the 20th Anniversary of his marriage to his beautiful wife. I felt humbled and honoured to be invited by my friend, whose children are older than me. In my sober reflection of this invite, I remembered how I also fell some 20 years from a tree. That episode has indeed thought me great lessons. But through the changing scenes of time, Through our various encounters, I realised your unique story is relevant. Your story is still important for human progress. Even though we cannot phantom how, we have survived all this years. How we have been enabled to be able to walk through life to this day is a mystery. It is true that the God factor is still active and critical to our survival. And in spite of our various mistakes, miscalculation, missed opportunities, and our unworthiness and stubbornness, God has ge

Your being is a gift. Your life is also a gift. Every new day is a gift box, stuffed with grace, goodness, and opportunities. Although we cannot have everything as and when we like them, life essentially is still a simple affair. And even as often as we likely may taste the complexities of this gift in our experiences and lessons, it is my prayer we remain positive and optimistic. Therefore, in sharing the gift box of this day, may we be inspired by love and guided by divine wisdom to live, these precious moments of the goodness of life's gift to us. The things that excites us are mostly not random. Same goes for things that annoys us daily. These things are actually connected to our purpose and the very essence of our lives. Sometimes, a deep conversation with ourselves could help reveal these simple truths. Other times, an intimate moment of encounter with God is all we need to understand the basics of our lives.
