I ADMIRE YOU

Is life all about the fun and excitement?
Is it about the euphoria of winning and smiling?
Or is it also about the delight of having money, and wielding a power?

Certainly, there is more to life than meets the eye.
But like the weather, I know it can be funny and tricky as well as blissful.
I may not know all that you have been through;
I may not know the entire details of your intricate story.

But I know there were times we were overwhelmed by things and didn't understand the happening.
There were days we wished things were a bit better
There were months we might be broke and didn't know how to scale through.
There were moments we thought we have lost it.
There were occasions we were disappointed & let down.
There were instances our energy levels were low and our zeal to act was down.
There were nights we wept and asked why.
There were periods our good intentions were misconstrued or misrepresented.

But in all these ups and downs,
And through those low and high moments,
You have survived. Although I don't know how you managed.

It is your courage and determination to live through these times that I admire.
It's your undying spirit that I celebrate.
I admire your endurance and resilience to still rise and walk.

In our quest to satisfy our daily needs of what to eat and wear, we very often forget or give less attention to the very things that equally needs our care.  Sometimes our busy schedules in search of money or comfort are making us take little care of some pertinent things in our lives that we ought to care about.  Oftentimes, we also become too petty, bemoan and complain too much of our challenges of what's not done or what's still needed to do. Today, in seeking a balance, may we always value the little things like our faith, integrity, concern for the human family. May we ever desire to respect human dignity and be prepared to summon the energies we are blessed with, to make the positive impact we intend to make.
