Democracy without discipline is dangerous. Rights without responsibility is risky. Religion without responsive action is a disaster. Reform without a holistic vision of betterment for all is perilous.   Politics without patriotic people is an incurable plague. Education without lasting evolutionary values is a calamity. Independence without a collective will to work for the common good is hazardous. A Nation without firm character is an unsafe venture. The events that happened on 6th March 1884, 6th March 1957; 24th February 1966; 31st December 1981; 9th May 2001, 11th September 2001; 3rd June 2015 among others are inked on the slate of time. Every event or happening in every day occurs within time. Similar recurring events happen with time. But none escapes the close watch of God the Creator. Through all ages, time has kept with us. There is time for everything under the Sun. There is time to be born and there is time to die. There's time to enter and there's time to exit. There is time to laugh and make merry, and there is time to weep and mourn. There's time to wake up and there is time sleep or rest. There is time to plant and there's time to harvest. There are times we become sick, tired and bored, and there are times we become elated, happy and very delighted. Tomorrow is not promised but we've got the gift of this day to live. To a large extent everything is vanity and it is uncertain whether the next two generations will even remember us for our deed, but we've got to do something beautiful today. We've got to plant good seeds today. We have to cultivate good relationships with others in order to swim through the tides. May God our help and refuge through all ages continue to guide us into this day. May He teach us the essence of being modest in our search for material things to preserve the common good. Legends are born in every generation. Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was one of them and you are the other legend yet to be discovered.  It's true Dr. Nkrumah understood his call and worked towards it. And even with such exceptional qualities, and God's favour, he still needed to work with people to attain the level of development he brought to Ghana and the consciousness he raised among Afrikans and the world at large. People are important in every progress march, that's why I still believe in you as a capable member of this progressive force. And I have no doubt in my mind that we are a blessed but strange people. I have never doubted in our collective ability to do great things. I have a firm conviction that we can do a lot more for ourselves if we change our mindsets, rethink our actions and learn from the man we honour this day and from other patriots. I have this believe that we can generate unique home grown plans and create the things we need for our betterment.

There is no doubt life is a pilgrimage. And every passing day is part of this walk. So let us value life and the daily investments we make, even as we protect and treasure our reputations and gains. Good evening. God bless you #KYB ✍#

Every individual exhibits a unique character. Every institution projects a particular character. Every community and society or system and organisation or nation have a character grounded on certain key fundamental believes, norms, rules, experiences and aspirations. There is no doubt that our thoughts and consistent practices reflect in our character, and grows into habits which ultimately defines our destiny as a people. It is also true that our individual character in a way contribute in defining our collective character as a people, be it good or bad. It is true we may sometimes be choked by the complexities and anxieties of life that could affect our character. But to build a lasting and resilient character as individuals and as a nation, we must revisit our values of discipline, honesty, integrity and respect that promotes the love for God and country.
