Afrika Must Unite

Is it a curse that our peculiar problems keep popping up? Is there any deadly spell threatening the restoration of sanity and dignity of our home and hope? So how come we are where we are now after all we have learned from our common past? Could Kalundi Serumaga 's statement that the "Three centuries of such bloody-mindedness (slave trade) and another century of direct colonial enclosure left Africa dazed, confused, and dominated by a social class bearing a wholly warped mindset? Or did we forgot Steve Biko's advise that “the greatest weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed”? The Ugandan born Joseph P. Ochieno once stated that "The humiliation of Africa with the help of Africans, the plunder of Africa by Africans and the torture of Africans aided by Africans sometimes compels me to wonder - 'who will save Africa from outside forces when we cannot save it from ourselves?'" And I ask who will save Afrika? Indeed, in his re

Wonderful Gift

For every night that we have survived; For the beauty of another wonderful morning; For each dream that turned into reality; For the warmth of another sunshine in this day; For all the moments we breathed fresh air; For the very gift of life that we embrace again; We cannot say much but thank the Most High. So with little events that turned out to be miracles; With friends that turned into families; With strangers who inspire us to keep walking; With unpleasant experiences turned into blessings; With encounters that turned into opportunities; We appreciate the goodness of people. As a beautiful soul, ready to thrive today, May your efforts reach beyond and pour the balm of consolation on the wounds of humanity. May your words convey peace and build others. And may your day be blessed. I wish you well on this wonderful day. Take care. Greetings ©KYB ✍🏿20/11/19

Promoting Fairness

We heard several arguments justifying why between us and them we are so different and can't think or even work together. And this has heightened the mistrust and stereotypes we have against each other. However, I believe true concern for others’ well being, a fair appreciation of their challenges and a genuine effort to support, can greatly help reduce the fear and suspicion existing among people, groups, and nations. Besides valuing and caring for people, as well as ensuring that no one is excluded in accessing the basic needs of life, the effective promotion of fairness, openness, and transparency in our dealings can also give rise to trust and friendship. NOTE OF GRATITUDE

Your prayers, kind wishes, calls, and messages helped made this Day of Remembrance a memorable one. Since mine is a people's story weaved together by your efforts and deeds, I cannot but pray Yahweh to richly bless you. Gratitude is indeed not enough to express my appreciation to the Most High for the gift of life and for your support on this pilgrimage. I appreciate the special roles you played from time to time that helped me come this far. Thank you for being part of this wondrous journey. Thank you for remembering this young boy. Be blessed abundantly. Thank you.πŸ‘πŸΏ Sincerely me. ©KYB ✍🏿11/11/19

BETTER EDUCATION

Education without a goal is meaningless. Education without a deliberate attempt to form good people is a failure. Education without the right moral keys to direct our affairs is a disaster. Education without the right content to inspire people to love and serve the good of a nation is a nonstarter. Education that only focuses on success without the necessary tools to examine our shortcomings, and think of finite ways of addressing our odd ways is problematic. Education that makes us dependent on pamphlets, handouts and makes us first-grade copycats is not only worrying but dehumanising. Education that makes us half baked intellectuals who are conscious of perfect result from a knee jerk approach to an ailing education that lacks strategic ways of addressing issues is sickening and disturbing. And it is not surprising that our system has trained self-seeking, greedy, dishonest intellectual thieves, who are hailed by a somewhat gullible public of equal guilt. We need a holistic ed

ONE DAY

We were told to live one day at a time. We were encouraged to be prudent in life. But we know that not all days are the same. Not all days are like yesterday. There is always a unique day in our lives. And there might be that bad day of discomfort. There's also a birthday, a lucky day, a good day, a blessed day, beautiful day as well as a wonderful day and a judgement day. Yet, there could be a day of a single event. There are those memorable days. And there are unforgettable days. There are favourable days that we smile. There are sunshine days that we shine. Although we all have different experiences, But with similar routines in different geopolitical locations, the fact is that we are all blessed with the gift of life today. It's my hope that we appreciate this gift. It's my belief that we find the smiles in our duties. It's my prayer your strength is replenished. May you find the peace you seek one day. God bless. I wish you well. Greetings ©KY

I ADMIRE YOU

Is life all about the fun and excitement? Is it about the euphoria of winning and smiling? Or is it also about the delight of having money, and wielding a power? Certainly, there is more to life than meets the eye. But like the weather, I know it can be funny and tricky as well as blissful. I may not know all that you have been through; I may not know the entire details of your intricate story. But I know there were times we were overwhelmed by things and didn't understand the happening. There were days we wished things were a bit better There were months we might be broke and didn't know how to scale through. There were moments we thought we have lost it. There were occasions we were disappointed & let down. There were instances our energy levels were low and our zeal to act was down. There were nights we wept and asked why. There were periods our good intentions were misconstrued or misrepresented. But in all these ups and downs, And through those low and
