Dear Lord, Thank you for the gift of this unique day. O good Lord, forgive our iniquities and do listen to our humble plea. Wash out our stains and sanctify our souls. Please fill the heart of all your children with the treasures of your goodness and mercy. F rom sunrise to sunset the wind of blessings blow amidst the funny waves of odd practices. From the various news rooms across the globe and the  numerous outlets of information, we hear credible and incredible spin. From many countless narratives of our time, we see many fault lines of departure from what ought to be. From one incident to another chaotic, the world seems to be reeling under a stubborn spell of indiscipline, hatred, greed, impunity and a state of godlessness. The absence of authentic care for one another, the reduction of everything to monetary value and disregard for Divine precepts has eroded our collective human value. The equation of success to the capitalist view point, which places less value for holistic human development, has affected the respect we have for each other. Never forget whoever loved you when you're a child. Never forget the one who blessed you with the gift of life. Never forget the one who taught you how to walk and talk. Never forget the one who watches over you every night and cares to wake you up every morning. Never forget the one who feed you and heals you of all your infirmities. Never forget the one who still warmly guide your steps and fosters you. However busy you maybe today; However content or discontent you may feel this hour; However successful or progressive you may be; However challenging your situations may be; However terrible or disappointed you may feel; Whatever interesting thoughts you might be entertaining right now, remember that your life is a gift and the giver of this gift still loves and cares for you. People have interesting character. People have fascinating thoughts. People have stimulating interests, That propels their actions and deeds. Sometimes their interest levels can rise higher beyond reasonable limits. Sometimes their emotional levels can make them talk beyond limits. Sometimes their lack of patience to read between the lines and sift meanings is worrying. In all these, one thing is remains clear that we cannot sacrifice Discipline, Respect for Law and Order and Fundamental Principles to endear ourselves or please people.     It is desirable that outcomes are good but we know of some undesirable ones. It is sensible to calmly assess your opponents strengths and the interest in their noise. It is wise to make your intelligence gathering machinery very solid and unmatched. A friend recently invited me to a purposeful meeting of like minded people but asked me to be keep an open mind. It is interesting what we think of others and how we want them to buy into our point of view all the time. But what is fundamental is that Our understanding of issues differ. Our perception of others differ, the same way the impression we give others about ourselves differ. And Archbishop Peter Kwasi Sarpong says that we often "condemn people not because we know they have done something evil, but because we don't know the truth about them. We are ignorant". We see what we want to see in people base on our different interpretations, conception and conjectures of who they are or who they ought to be. We are mostly ignorant of others we presume to judge, condemn and crucify.
