Reliving our Identity

Our identity is rooted in our communality as a people living together. Our identity as Afrikans is essentially a people centred one, where one's concern was that of the community. The glue that binds us together is that authentic unity in every sphere of our engagement as Afrikans, which is still crucial for our survival. It's likely that due to the seeds of discord sown in our hearts years ago, coupled with the loud stereotypes we traded about each other and the silent conspiracies, has contributed in fermenting our mistrust for each other. In fact, the re-engineering of our social structures, the change in the labour system with the subtle blessing of religion to civilise the Afrikan has greatly altered our identity for good or bad. An alteration that make others the dictators of what, when and how to utilise our resources. This is very questionable of our being. We know too well the fact that the artificial cages our colonisers placed around us, and the system they sup

Genuine Efforts

A day with delight starts with a healthy smile. But knowing that the best feelings in the world is someone out there smiling because of our deed, behoves us to commit genuine efforts in all our dealings. Good morning 🌿🌻 #KYB ✍🏿®#

Watch These Things

Watch what you say when you are angry or pushed to the wall. Watch your tongue whenever you are elated or excited. Watch your appetite in every situation, be it for money, for pleasure or power. Watch your tendency to over indulge in your tactics and approaches. Watch your attitude when you deeply want or need something. Watch your attitude when you are tempted to abuse your privileges. Watch the footprints you leave on digital spaces. Watch the history you write about yourself in other spaces of your life. Observe your interest in life and in the things you do. Observe people's interest in you and watch whether they're still attracted to you when they no longer get what they want or need from you. Watch those who call you friend, and value those who have been around you when the music tempo of your life slows down. Due to the tendency of people to abuse their privileges, it is good to observe those who claim they love you. To tell you the truth, there are a lot of

RETHINKING WASTE

There is a culture of waste in our system we must talk about. It is a relevant topic we cannot neglect. This is because there is a colossal waste in the way we utilise our resources in every sphere. We might be culprits in wasting time on unproductive ventures, wasting words on trivial squabbles or gossips, and wasting energies in certain negative activities. There is precious waste of money, time and even human lives in the processes of securing power which is condensed in the sweet promises. There is also waste in our attempt to exercising our various positions, privileges which is  reflected in our posturing. Beside these wastage, there could even be wastage in our jobs, our religion, our public and private spaces, which often frustrate and stress us unnecessarily. There's even waste in the relationships we cultivate. In fact, the terrible culture of wastage in every system we engage to preserve our wellbeing is worth rethinking. In the area of food, the United Nations F

An Essential Need

There's a subtle wind fondling our hearts that we have to arrest. It's as if the wind is accelerating its speed across continents. And it would surprise you to know how it's affecting every sector of our lives. It's been whispered severally in these pieces of inspiration. And it's spelt out in the Indiscipline Negligence and Greed (I. N. G) syndrome attacking and destroying our sanity and peace. After pushing the world to deadly Wars with millions dying, it's still our biggest enemy and an undying threat to our very survival. Perhaps it's worth thinking through  these questions to guide us: Is the driving force of capitalism (profits) sustainable? What's it about our human greed that's watering down our values? How's the fear factor breeding insecurity in our lives? Is compassion still necessary for our progress? With recent happenings around us, a friend succinctly observed that people have stop being human beings. Though debatable,

Finishing the Unfinish

Numerous stories were told; But when the actors and observers share their narratives, there's this other side that is still not told. Sometimes the Creator's side of the story is often edited or somehow hidden in obscure scenes of our imagination. However, piecing the stories of people together, reveals an interesting patten of a salient continuity. There are still loud gaps of unfinished works that the living must fulfil. There's an unfinished project in our transition and efforts we must rethink and look at. There's only enough we can still do to contribute to what was started yesterday. I mean, there's an unfinished task God wants us to finish while we live here. Although it is challenging living our roles and functions, let alone trying to finish an unfinished business, we still owe it as a duty to finish. It's human to get fed-up or frustrated about all the things not working in our lives or the system. Sometimes we get discouraged and also follow t
