🌷FAVOURABLE TREATIES🌷

Favourite treaties of our time lives.  Fascinating treaties of our relationships follows our fancy every day.  Fundamental treaties of our well-being continues to fall through Fridays.  But what has our attitude towards these treaties been?  What has our affections towards others been?  What has our responsibilities in living the duties these treaties imposes on us been as a people?  Have we been too hypocritical in accepting our failures in fulfilling what we ought to be doing?  Have we been excessively deceiving ourselves of the care we have for each other or have we over  abused the patience in the  trust of these treaties?  Or have we over professed our false piety in the name of loving the  God of Ghanaians, while we selfishly sink a people's empire? May God help us free our spirits, hearts and minds  from all hindrances and make us embrace the truth in these favourable treaties on this blessed  day.  TGIF. Image
It is an uneasy time, with unpredictable tides. We are feeling the effects of the adjustments to safely navigate these waters. We might have heard of the casualties by now and felt the burden on our economy.  But kindly make healthy changes to your life by eating healthier, spending quality time with the family and calmly reflecting on how we can live through these moments.   Indeed, in this era of uncertainty, our weapon of defence includes standing firm in hope and prayer, and remaining calm, while taking greater responsibility for our health. Continue Staying Safe

Image
We least expected a pandemic could sneak on us. We didn't even bargain for the pause in our pulse. Neither did we anticipate the effects it would have on our very survival. There are higher rates of anxiety, distress, depression, and other silent tides blowing too.  With sentiments of concern in these times, we still have to be strong on our sail.  We have to be unwavering in our efforts contain the spread, ensure our survival, and continue to build. To this end, the accomplished Nigerian Novelist Ben Okri reminds us that "the most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love, and to be greater than our suffering". So while expressing our discomforts, our irritations,  and our losses let's be sober in our reflection, attentive to the wisdom of the times and act in one accord to solve the challenge. Continue staying safe and explore your capabilities. Wishing you a peaceful weekend. Greetings ©KYB ✍🏿8/05

While We Pray

Image
Every situation demands some sort of action. But some situations require urgent actions. Crisis or emergency situations need critical attention and special response. We are aware of the staggering tally of casualties, since the outbreak of the coronavirus. We are conscious of the inconveniences that come with the tides. Many businesses are suffering, while others are thriving during these times. The impact on several sectors of our society is incalculable. The fear and panic associated with the pandemic cannot be quantified.  In fact, all these happenings give credence to the adage that tragedy triggers transformation. It's too early to predict whether this pandemic would influence us positively. But as we pray and beg God to intervene, As we bow in supplication, we pray we also listen to each other and heed the early warning signs. As we kneel and raise our arms in prayer,  May we grow to live harmoniously with others and our environment.  While we pray to thank God for the gift o

During Emergencies

Image
We witness an avalanche of information from different quarters pontificating on what this COVID-19 is all about.  We see daily updates and counter-information or frightening accounts from elsewhere that further confuses and increases our anxieties.  It is our wish as human beings that emergencies and crisis situations shouldn't happen in our lives. However, these circumstances happen anyway.  It is worth noting that we are blessed with the capacity to go manage these situations. Indeed, one of the key ingredients is authentic information. During emergencies, sound communication is a critical currency needed to manage the situation.  During emergencies, we don't dillydally with the situation at hand.  Authentic communication is required to prepare the minds of the people, to allay their fears and give them some sense of assurance, as well as provide them with up to date feeds on what to do.  It is unfortunate that the posturing and demeanour of the authorities speaki

Have We Failed Ourselves?

Image
We usually react when we feel threatened. We often become disorganised and unsettled during these storms.  In fact, it is during crisis time that our capacity to survive is tested.  However, reflecting on our collective activities over these decades, I think we have failed ourselves. We have failed the other species of our planets. And we cannot continue living disconnected from the consciousness of our interconnectedness. We cannot continue being selfish and cruel to ourselves and our environment and expect to be safe. We cannot continue abusing our relationship with our common home and expect to be spared the ramifications of not being eliminated. We cannot continue being unfair stewards and expect God to congratulate us for our bad deeds. Maybe it's late to redeem ourselves from this mess we are in.  Maybe the damage we have inflicted on ourselves and on mother earth in the name of development is irredeemable.  To reform and transform from our odds ways might help in
