SELF CONTROL
If everyone was doing the right thing; will there be the need for rules,laws and law enforcement?
If everybody was acting in the right manner; will there be the need for moral codes for checks and balances?
If everything looks the way you like things, will there be a room to accommodate differing views or tolerate other people's taste?
There's a reason why things are so, and we all have a Freewill to
choose what we desire to do with our time. But like the wind that blows,
it's not every windy situation that is good for us. Although the winds
carries the sweet breeze on its wings, we mostly don't like the
ferocious North East Trade Winds that carries dust and dirt.
Yes we can't stop the winds or people or circumstances from blowing or moving or even visiting us, but with our freewill we're also endowed with the gift of SELF CONTROL, to help us meander through the demands of life.
And to do this effectively we've got to listen to the rhythms of life, while watching our composure in all situations.
Like the legendary St. Augustine of Hippo, may we also be filled with the Life giving Spirit of Wisdom to understand life, to diligently seek the face of Yahweh, who's clothed in the robe of eternal glory.
