BE YOURSELF
She's cool and down to earth when we started school. But somewhere along the line her ascent changed. I hear they call it Locally Acquired Foreign Ascent (LAFA).
She sounded funny and somehow irritating, but one day she mispronounced a word in class and everybody laughed, with some going further to tease her. Her emotions were buttered and I guess she learnt her lessons.
There's a saying that a sinner who pretends to be a saint is far worse than the humble sinner who admits his sins.
In all your dealings try to be simple and just be yourself. Playing the double standard or playing to the gallery could be dangerous to your health and integrity. Don't pretend to what you're not because whatever you're it shall be known.
May God help us to be a people who endeavour to live what we preach. Just be yourself.
