They Were Once Here

There were once here.
They walked and talked our thoughts,
Lived in our homes, dwelt in our hearts,
And made memories of ordinary days.

They knew joy and sorrow,
Struggle, sacrifice and love.
They dreamed, they laboured, they cared,
And left their footprints in our lives.
Some departed too soon,
Others after long journeys.
But none is truly forgotten
While love keeps their memories alive.
Today, we remember not just how they died,
But how they lived and what they left behind.
May we continue to learn, live and leverage the good values they espoused.
For essentially we are All Souls answering the Call of our common destiny.
