Gratitude Notes XI

It's lunchtime already, and I guess you are thinking of what to have for lunch. Well even as you settle on what to eat or warm that pack food, kindly remember to appreciate our farmers too.
This is because it was rumoured the other day that the tip-giving habits of patrons at eateries have reduced drastically.
Though this claim cannot be substantiated, it is quite awful that the Chefs/Attendants who prepare the meals or serve them get much praise and tips, instead of the FARMERS who toil to grow the foodstuff.

It's even worrying to learn how much food is wasted in household kitchens, restaurants and hotels when preparing these meals.

As we mark world vegetarian day, it is appropriate for us to reflect on ways of appreciating plant-based food and reducing the incidence of food wastage.
The current economic conditions with increasing prices of foodstuffs demand that we collectively maximise the utilisation of food and reduce wastage to its barest minimum.
By so doing, we would be appreciating our food growers.

Sometimes too, it is unfortunate our food stock gets locked up in the hinterlands due to poor road networks and the high cost of carting the foodstuffs to the market centres.

While still looking at the 3F (Food-Feul-Finance) crisis nexus,
It behoves us to rethink food wastage reduction and appreciate our Farmer's efforts whenever we eat good meals.

Please salute our farmers wherever they are.
Greetings
