Reliving our Identity

Our identity is rooted in our communality as a people living together.
Our identity as Afrikans is essentially a people centred one, where one's concern was that of the community.
The glue that binds us together is that authentic unity in every sphere of our engagement as Afrikans, which is still crucial for our survival.

It's likely that due to the seeds of discord sown in our hearts years ago, coupled with the loud stereotypes we traded about each other and the silent conspiracies, has contributed in fermenting our mistrust for each other.

In fact, the re-engineering of our social structures, the change in the labour system with the subtle blessing of religion to civilise the Afrikan has greatly altered our identity for good or bad.
An alteration that make others the dictators of what, when and how to utilise our resources. This is very questionable of our being.

We know too well the fact that the artificial cages our colonisers placed around us, and the system they superimposed on our traditional ones has affected our lives.
We equally know that the attitude of our leaders who know the inequity in these arrangements, coupled with the behaviour of most of our educated elites are causing us to worship these old orders.

What we don't know is whether we are so badly cursed or blinded by our blessings that we somehow developed a respectable taste for anything foreign, and celebrate the greed in our selfishness, to the extent that we still go to them to beg for our survival.

How long can we continue on this tangent? Is it sustainable?

We definitely have a duty to unite in order to fight and finish the last stage of our liberation.
The unity of all Afrikans is very critical to the attainment of this goal.

Are we alone in this resolve and fight? We certainly are note.
However, we need multidisciplinary approach to be ahead of our detractors.
We need to be deliberate about this and work together.
This duty requires a dedicated crop of cadres who would guide all of us to walk the path of reclaiming our worth.

Time, days, months and even years would be consumed in this process. Yet, it's still a needful duty to pursue.
We may disagree to agree on pertinent issue, but all our disagreements should help us build credible consensus to help us be the better people we ought to be.
Afrika deserves better, we all deserve the best. It's time we demand handsome returns on our resources.
Those scrambling for our resources  should be checked, the same way we would handle those professional traitors of our breed.

We have come a long way on this journey, for us to give up on this noble course of liberating ourselves.
We have no excuse to fail in this task.
We owe ourselves and our children's children the charge to be eternally vigilant in preserving our dignity and identity.

And even in our quest to rid our hearts from all negative tendencies and stay -united, let's endeavour to reflect and pray for Afrika. Yes! Let's pray for the United Afrikan Dream, because our strength is in Our Unity.

I salute you because I know with you on board, we can make progress.

Greetings
