An Essential Republic

It's an essential Republic where our fathers and mothers decided we could and should, and be the people to decide on how to govern ourselves.

It's indeed a daring move to live our worth as a people prepared to fulfil our destiny as men capable of thinking, and making the right decisions for ourselves.

But what have we to show for governing ourselves for the past 58 years?

How has our sovereignty helped us to leverage the blessings of living at Centre of the world as a people with the mandate to administer our affairs?

Have we been able to develop psychologically, emotionally and spiritually in advancing the course of our worth?

How best have we adequately served the interest of our people in helping us all make meaningful progress?

What have we done to cure the deadly creed of our individual and collective greed, in order to serve our common good?

Can we recollect and tally the gains we have made against those that we dreamed and thought about in our plans?

Can we say with all certainty that we have been sincere to ourselves as active leaders or passive citizens in the discourse of our essence in this space?

How can we still build without disturbing the entrenched positions in an already poison or polarised political ecology?

It's my hope and prayer that with these reflective thoughts, we could retune our focus to make our Republic not only a gateway to Afrika but that vital entity which injects a renewed sense of vitality to complete the liberation of our continent.
God bless our homeland
Blissful Republic
