Gift of Memory

Was it the nature of history we disliked or liked to disregard?
Was the teaching and learning of the subject that boring that we preferred speaking about the present and a hopeful future?

A memory of two decades breathed into the pipes of the present.
And Oh! It's February again.
A cheerful dream stoked the steam in us to live, but never had it occurred to me then that there's going to be such a reflection in this month.

With the gift of grace, accompanied by people, we can hopefully smile to the distant mile.

There are countless caregivers, relations, teachers, mentors, benefactors, peers and people we encounter through the changing scenes of time and season.
There are some we've long buried under the debris of time but their memories are still alive.

I don't know where you were two decades ago, but what I do know is that we're here. Thank you for being a wonderful part of this sail.
In thanking God for the gift of your life, and commending you for your daily efforts, I am in effect thanking all those through whose sweat, toil, sacrifice, guidance, friendship, counsel, motivation, mentoring, training or investment in our lives got us here.
So for those who cared to listen to our boring stories, and still breathed courage in us;
For those who provoked, proposed and gave us the needed push to  pursue excellence, we can't thank you enough, and acknowledge all those who invested their time in you. God bless.
