PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

There's a threatening current sweeping the soul of our society. In fact it has become a sickening trend many of us adopt when we're at our odds or fail to do our best. Children, the youth and adults say it in self defense, for fear of punishment or to save themselves from disgrace. The 'it's not my fault" or the blame game syndrome is killing the sense of responsibility in our society. Barbara Tuchman, a celebrated historian rightly said what we most need in this century is "probably personal responsibility" for our actions and inactions. Maybe we should take more responsibility for our behaviour and our performance and bear in mind that doing so doesn't mean society must forgive you  because it's "not your fault." May God help us do our best today.
