Shy Shai Hills Crossing

Image
It was around 7:12 am on Sunday 12, July 2020 around Shai Hills, when this shy lady crossed the road. Although she was somewhat conscious of the need to get to the other side of the highway, she was lost in her thoughts and might have least expected the vehicle to approach with such speed. So my good fair colleague who's steering the dark Vibe Pontiac Car at 70km to 75km per hour graciously swerved to the left side of the road in order to avoid hitting her. Though she quickened her pace a bit, she was casually calm with calculated steps, walking as if nothing was at stake. She strolled with a distinct stale experience of life, clad in the absence of stateliness. Yet the mirthfulness in her style signals a striving souls' gratitude for the gift of life.  Moving steadily, she looked strengthened by the dew bath of the dawn and much ready to walk into the beautiful morning. But buried in her lonely thoughts of many loud possibilities,  she seemed to be relishing the co

Urgent Plea

Image
The world is on it knees and everyone is affected. The rising cases and the tally of casualties of this novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is yet to end.  The fatigue that comes with the measures is quite understandable but are we now safer to move about as if all is well? The exceeding option of keeping our hopes alive is necessary, since it incites the possibility for action. However, the prevailing denial and despair, and certain political activities, leads to a subtle inclination of indolence that has dangerously deaden the sense of alertness among certain quarters of the public.  Inasmuch as much there's need to remain calm and lesson our fears, we need not let down our guard with a false sense of immunity to COVID-19. This urgent plea is therefore a reminder to ourselves of the need to keep safe and follow the safety protocols. As valuable citizens, we still have the grace to act right by stopping the spread, while the sun still glows, today. So kindly take care of your

Bridges of Solidarity

Image
There is a lot of space in our environment that permits some of our outdoor engagements. As kids, we played in these open spaces and had loads of fun, while exploring this infant freedom. There were no walls around the house in our community then, and one could easily run to drink water from these houses when we're thirsty or run for cover when we felt threatened on those playgrounds.  The closest barriers we saw then were flower hedges and bamboo or wire mesh fences around people's backyard farms or gardens. There was nothing like these huge concrete walls we now have.  We have erected more walls around ourselves, which has somehow caged us from really exploring our surroundings. It is as if our enlightenment in this age is equated with the sophistication of these barricades around our houses. Unfortunately, these huge concrete walls around us only reinforce our attempt to be individualistic.  And the saddest aspect is that we are consciously or unconsciously trapp

Never FORGET

Image
Never forget your worth. Never belittle your value. Never underestimate yourself. Remember whoever was there for you. Remember whoever blesses you with life. Remember the loyal souls who pray for you and are willing to sacrifice for you. However busy you may be today; However content or discontent you may feel this hour; However successful or progressive you may be;  However, challenging your situations may be; However terrible or disappointed you may feel; Whatever interesting thoughts you might be entertaining right now, remember that your life is a gift and the one who gave you this gift still loves and cares for you.    Remember life is transient, Remember we have a responsibility to Love, Care and Serve one another.  I still cherish & value you. And I wish you well. Kindly, stay safe. ©KYB ✍🏿07/07/2020

In this Era

Image
It is an uneasy time, with unpredictable tides. We are feeling the effects of the adjustments to safely navigate these waters. We might have heard of the casualties by now and felt the burden on our economy.  But kindly make healthy changes to your life by eating healthier, spending quality time with the family and calmly reflecting on how we can live through these moments.   Indeed, in this era of uncertainty, our weapon of defence includes standing firm in hope and prayer, and remaining calm, while taking greater responsibility for our health. Being healthy and calm is the key to living through these tides. Stay Strong. Stay Safe Greetings. ©KYB ✍🏿03/07/2020

60TH RESILIENT GRADE

Image
It's been six months when a certain infectious disease(COVID-19) surprised humanity, with 10 million cases and over 500, 000 deaths.  Indeed, we least expected this pandemic six months ago, and our lives – would be thrown into turmoil by this new virus. This plague has brought out the best and the worst of our humanity. In all this, we have seen heartwarming acts of resilience, innovative ideas, kindness and kindness. We have also seen the effects on our sixty-year-old Republic. But beyond the excuses we make for the deficit in our growth, how can we account for the six decades of our self-determination; self-governance; and development? Can we say we have arrived? Can we say we have managed and governed ourselves satisfactorily?  Can we say we have exceeded our expectation as a sovereign state and inspiring leadership in Afrika? Can we say we're really in charge of our collective destiny? Certainly, we still have numerous challenges and problems on our hands in the

Be A Blessing

Lift up your mood and let optimism rule your life. Lift up your soul by reminding yourself of why you started in the first place.  Kindly remember everyone battling drug addiction and anyone form of addiction in life. Let's remember those going through rehabilitation. Let's not forget them in these trying moments. With your consistent care, we can support them to reform and improve. By getting inspired to take action we can individually be the candlelights that illumine their lives or be the mirrors that reflect the light of hope in the lives to heal. May you be remembered in your silent battles. May God bless your efforts to improve. Greetings to you. ©KYB ✍🏿26/06/2020
