The Care Manifesto

Our connections make us human beings. Our concern for life's basic needs defines us. Our care to still drive people to fulfilment bestows on us a great command. Our creative essence to bring succour to the dying, helpless, and the marginalised still breathes in our mission. So beyond our beautiful pronouncements of care, There's a common good to care for. The task to share a little of our comfort with others makes us human. So to listen closely is our care. To pay attention is our share. To attend to the needs of others is our duty, To help people wear dignifying smiles is a call, To walk together is our collective vocation. To serve one another is an edifying call. So we have a duty to reassure ourselves to care. We have a responsibility to respect each other. We have a responsibility to be good and not act out of malice. May your light shine so brightly to illumine the path of others. May what you do inspire hope in others and bless them with a renewed sense

Several Stories

It's dangerous knowing only one story. It's very injurious to hold onto only one story. But it's likely the many people we meet every day; have different stories besides what we know. It's a fact that those we interact with have many silent stories. Although I don't know how many people you saw today or how many of them you spoke to, I do know that there are more stories we are yet to discover. I mean, of the many faces you met yesterday; Of the many voices you heard or listened to today; Of the various individuals we would see tomorrow; It's possible they have many unique tales and details yet to be told. However, it's unfortunate we sometimes assess others based on the one-sided story we know. Oftentimes, we are guilty of judging others based on one perspective of an individual's character. The danger of a single perspective or story is seriously damaging our hopes and prospects. In as much as we may not know all versions and verses of vari

Subtle Intent

The waves keeps coming & coming. The breeze keeps blowing & blowing. Their styles keep swinging & shifting. And some of our own keep betraying & betraying. But their schemes are very much alive. Indeed, not everyone who smiles is a friend. Not everyone who speak truth is an enemy. Some friends are very deliberate and strategic. While others with permanent interest still live. Have we forgotten we were the uncivilized race? Have we forgotten their pledged to civilize us? Have we forgotten how our dignity was dented? Have we forgotten how our identity was smeared? But remember their subtle comings. Remember their exotic god & how they fought us. Remember their enticing mirror & gin traps. Remember the demeaning episodes of yesterday. Remember their cunning defiant machines. So after disturbing our order, After whipping most of us to be in order, And after helping us mimic their ways, Somehow many have become desperate beggars, And mostly conf

Warm October

O-pen wide the gates of opportunities and  blessings on your people Yahweh! C-reate a creative certitude in us that will challenge us to care more for ourselves and others, Lord. T-ransmit your abundant grace to sustain a willing  drive in us. O-ccupy our thoughts with new possibilities Lord. B-righten, Yahweh the smiles of your people  with blissful moments of blessings. E-levate our hopes to make new gains in this new month. And R-emember O! good Lord to renew, and rekindle our resolve to live in the warmth of October. Remain blessed. Greetings ©KYB ✍🏿1/10/19

What are We Taking for Granted?

Image
The news was served on various outlets. And like wildfire it got to every corner of the world. But as usual, we previewed it with our defensive or jeering lenses of talks. We spoke on end of the issue and I dare say it would become one of the talking points in a country so blessed. However, beyond the schemes and spins of this game, maybe we should be thinking of the subtle context of the many plots and valid questions of conscience. But come to think of it, are taking ourselves seriously?  Are we taking ourselves for granted? Are we taking the bread and butter issues seriously? Are we taking unemployment issues for granted? Are we taking our children's education seriously? Are we taking the Ghanaian and for that matter Afrikans seriously? Perhaps we can ask, how are using the Power we have from our People? How are we treating the topic of corruption in our body politic? How are we tackling our security issues? Are we ready to handle the insurgency and insec

How Many of His Kind Are We Raising?

Image
There are people we remember today. There are leaders we cannot forget. And there are followers who merit our honour. Today, we celebrate Kwame Nkrumah for his visionary and great leadership skills. We celebrate him for his towering legacies and his commitment to Afrika's liberation struggle. We remember his beautiful idea of a United States of Afrika and his penchant for UNITY. We also remember his faint flaws as a leader. And we recollect how we collectively let him down. But permit me to ask: How Many of His Kind Are We Investing in and Raising? How many of the Kwame Nkrumah's are we willing to support to lead? Permit me to ask how many great leaders are we encouraging or discouraging daily? Permit me to tickle our thoughts on how many of these ordinary or extraordinary people do we keep betraying and stifling every now and then? Perhaps it's fair to also ask how many of these visionary leaders are we willing to support to serve us? How many of these
