Memento of Nkrumah's Positivism

Sufficient Reasons have been adduced for why this transformational and visionary legend is being celebrated.

In the ins and outs of leadership, the contradiction of what is said and done at a time of severe economic challenges,  amidst the deadly-silent gaze of an uncomfortable people, the requirements for a critical direction in life, can no longer be the preserve of the few.

The feeble efforts of those offering alternative government approaches which seem to be sympathetic to the suffering of the many only to be neglected when they get the nod can not be countenanced.

The course of our society should not always be determined by a see-saw contest between the inside and the outside of the politics of interests, tribes, and creeds.

Today, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's positive consciousness lends credence to our quest for transformational leadership.

I have no doubt in my mind that we are a blessed but strange people.
I have never doubted in our collective ability to do great things.
I have a firm conviction that we can do a lot more for ourselves if we change our mindsets, rethink our actions, and learn from the man we honour on this day and from other patriots.
I believe that we can generate unique homegrown plans and create the things we need for our betterment.

I still have a great conviction that even though we've become too much of a talking nation, heavily divisive politics between us and them, the governance of rhetorics and blame game, and in spending less time tackling our challenges, we can still do better.

We need to be honest and sincere with ourselves and tell ourselves the uncomfortable truth while making bold decisions to do the needful.
We need to evaluate our efforts, question our odd ways, and re-calibrate our national values.
We need to be intentional about what we need to do to catapult ourselves to the future we want to build.

So long as there is life, we can still WORK again with determination, transparency, accountability, and creativity to become a self-reliant country and continent.

Time is long overdue for us to ensure our renaissance and our rebirth as a people, ready to put aside our greedy lust and act with a sense of urgency to push for our political, economic, and eternal salvation.

The time is ripe for us to rise above our petty politicking and strategies to scale the hurdle neo-colonialization sets in our path to reach our emancipation.

We are the architects of our progress, so it behooves us to do our little best to ensure our progress. We alone can liberate ourselves.

It is a nauseating phenomenon that a large number of skilled laborers are leaving Ghana and the continent in search of greener pastures just as we do nothing to stem the tide.

It is sad Ghana and for that matter, Afrika is still at the receiving end of global trade. It's time we created more, and added more value to our elementary products and services, while we invest in our human capital with the requisite training and orientation that will make Afrika regain its glory.

To do this, we must understand that we can no longer be pompous beggars and still claim to be a lower-middle-income country. I mean we all, including most of our educated elites should work hard and invent modules, machines, and technologies that would help us shift from our import-led economy to being a major exporter of finished goods and services.

So let's awaken the positive drive in our souls, and stir up the new consciousness in our spirits.

Let's awaken the positive genius within our hearts and tap into the progressive heritage of our hope.
Let's awaken the positive consciousness in our makeup and liberate our minds to see the bigger picture of who we are as a people, and where we are coming from. Where we are going to interrogate why we are where we are today? In doing this, we must remain steadfast, focused, and committed in our journey of progress.

And even though there are going to be challenges, betrayals, disappointments, and frustrations on this journey, we cannot give up after having come this far.

To the many incarnate of Nkrumah's zeal,
To the many admirers of Nkrumag's pragmatism,
To the many daughters and sons of Afrika's renaissance,

Be reminded that, We have to rise again with a determined selfless spirit, like our forefathers did to keep the torchlight of the struggle for our liberation burning.
