January to December

From January to January, we've heard intriguing news about the jingles in our annual resolution.

From January to February, we've heard frivolous tastes of our begging stakes as the Russia-Ukraine showdown started.

From January to March, we've matched the transitional tricks of our Masters' shadows.

From January to April, we've argued our approaches to advance the averse averages in our economy.

From January to May, we've marvelled at God's marvellous mercies on our multiple moves to birth E-levy.

From January to June, we've juggled and survived the trauma of needless perennial deaths in disasters.

From January to July, we've had to jump-start our journey of jogging with our limping economy and the possibility of borrowing more or jetting to sign IMF's sore relief.

From January to August, we've adjusted the distasteful grief in our creed of greed which still bleeds the blessings in our nation.

From January to September, we've stepped and stumbled on the sages in our survival salutation.

From January to October, we've organised our outlook and offered our outputs in hope of outpacing our original projections.

From January to November, we've had a nonstop noble notion of never giving up on the newness in the nest of days.

From January to December, we've tasted the dedicated deeds of Divine Grace even in our day-to-day decisions.

From April to August we've heard about the happy births of newborns and the painful exit of loved ones.

From June to July we've heard daring jeers in the 'aluta' for better working conditions.

From March to May, the various low and high tides of life danced with our temperance.

From January to December, many have been left with numerous orphans, many widows, and many widowers.

Throughout the year, we've broken many resolutions, promises, and pledges, yet we lived.

Throughout these 364 days, we've seen a lot, heard a lot and we've been through a lot, and yet we still live.

However, the year has been;
However challenging it might have been, I just can't imagine how we've made it.
I can't imagine how our sails navigated through these tense turbulent waves.

But for that friendly deity of ages;
But for that merciful God who still loves and cares for us;
But for that wondrous kind God, who even feeds all living things including the homeless birds before dusk, where will we have been by now?
What will we have been saying by now?
What versions of stories will we be rendering by now?

Certainly, we have a lot to be thankful for.
So do count your blessings and remember to thank that Supreme Being;
Because if for nothing at all, He's guided our sails this far;
If for nothing at all, He's shown us, LOVE beyond measure.

I just remembered to thank Him again and again for keeping us safe throughout this year. I thank God for your beautiful life too. (First Published in 30/12/2015)
