Silent Battles

It happened that among a group of young people smiling heartily, there was this friend who had a stale smile, although he looked a bit cheerful.

The other day, I saw this middle-aged man, walking down the road, whom I greeted. But from the way, he responded with a somber smile I had this strange feeling within me all wasn't well.

There's a good friend whom I overheard at dawn weeping in his prayer to God. I  was apparently supposed to passed information to him before traveling to Accra.

It occurred to me then that a lot of people are also shedding copious tears because of their peculiar conditions or the betrayals or disappointment they suffered. Some are shedding tears over their sickness, failures and for the seemingly nonprogressive life path, they found themselves on.

It is somehow revealing to know that some people wear well-rehearsed smiles to get going and to hide their peculiar battles.

In fact, one doesn't need a degree or a special certificate in the rudiments of observatory science or human communications to know the many silent battles people fight in their lives.

Nobody is immune from these silent battles which arise from stressors of our daily routines, pressures from our wants and our expectations or expectation from those around us, among others.

Without any empirical statistics, I dare say many people are broken, hurt and disappointed and are about giving up because of some of these silent battles that may overwhelm them.

Indeed, it's not surprising to see a sharp increase in cases of people stressed, depressed, and cases of attempted suicide in recent time.

There's even a rise in many addicts, increasing divorce cases, a lot of needless deaths among others, due to the fact that a lot of people are slowly dying because they are unable to fight these battles.

However, to fight and effectively contain these silent battles, we need to build an unwavering inner resilience, with a strong mental attitude to live and win these battles.

Again, since we are social beings, we also need to cultivate a firm social support system in our families, communities and social network group.

We also need to develop a deep faith guided by a set of lasting Godly values and that will help us stay connected and move along the visions the creator set out for us.

While being vigilant, patient, prayerful and pragmatic, we also need to be purposive, positive and focused in our quest to seek peace in our progress.

Even in calling for the creation of an organic social support system which is critical to our survival, we need to value our families and our communities to appreciate their foundation and explore the connections inherent in them to enable us to fight these silent battles on this journey.

Whatever happens in the course of your life, please be reminded you are not alone.
You are not alone in whatever battles you are fighting, because God is with you.
So, never grow weary or disturbed or destructed by these battles, but be resolute in your mind and stay focused on your ultimate goal.

Sometimes all these battles are to help prepare us for a greater task, so kindly take courage and keep going, for when the time comes you will know.

May God guide our steps and strengthen us to keep walking this distance.
May God bless you and keep you safe.
I wish you well.
Remain Blessed.
