Torch of Patriots

We have learned and heard the beautiful narratives of our 'foremothers' and forefathers.
We have listened to the tales and reasoned with or contested the logic of why they did what they did.
We have even dared to drag their ghosts into the witness box of our present open courts of our talks of thoughts.
But even in agreeing to equalise the scores of the importance of who our ancestors were and what role they played in the birth of our country, we can't deny the place of the one 🔦 Torchbearer, Kwame Nkrumah.

We may not like all his tactics, antics or strategies or even his odd ways, because he was only a mortal just like his compatriots who also had their shortcomings.

But can we quantify all the debt we owe our ancestors?
Can we weigh their enormous contributions to our growth.
Is it possible we can celebrate the honour in the values they lived and sought to preach?
Is it possible we can thank the Most High God of all ages for giving them to us?

Inasmuch as the efforts and ideals of our ancestors continue to affect our lives, perhaps it's important for us to rethink the values they espoused, lived and died for.

Perhaps it's worth asking at this juncture whether we have FULLY Liberated ourselves from mental slavery and from the clutches of colonialism and neocolonialism?
🖊Have we truly cured the mischief in our attitude after six decades of our birth as a country?
🖊Can we say with all sincerity that we fully understand the effects of globalisation on our lives?
🖊And can we carefully rethink the reality of our decreasing our dependence on others for almost every basic thing we need?
🖊How can we still leverage on the esteem of our Founder-Founders-Foundress to still make  ourselves relevant?
🖊Can we reflect on the good in us and discourage ourselves from accepting the fatal lie that we are second grade human beings?
🖊Can we uphold the flames our ancestors lighted and construct our reality of the truth of our heritage?
🖊Truth is that we are FIRST AMONG EQUALS, but the reality is that we have been schooled to believe we are mere duellers?
So this fight for our relevance is our fight,
The struggle for our eminence is our duty.
The rebirth of our emancipation and renaissance is ours to live.
May Atibluku /Odumankuma Nyamkunpɔn/ Mawusogbolisa (The Supreme Deity), the good spirits of our ancestors and the courageous valor of our Founder-Founders-Foundress, guide us on this path of self awareness, self-worth and true emancipation. Remain blessed. Greetings ⛅🌳🦅
