BROADER LOOK

Several years ago one Class teacher teaching us Life Skills asked the class how many people attend a Concert or 'Dance' at night. We laughed at the funny answers some colleagues gave but some of us were just confused about the somewhat inappropriate question, and the connection of the question to the class at the time. In our confusion, I raised my hand and said two people attend Concert. Though not a guess work, I couldn't properly explain why they're two but I said a man and woman go there. But thank God my answer was right.
In our society today, they say if it is not one, then it is two or three.
If it is not true then it is false.
If it is not black, then it is white.
If it is not sane, then it is insane.
If it is not comfortable, then it is uncomfortable.
If it is not good, then it is bad.
If it is not a male, then it is a female.
If it is not physical, then it is spiritual.
If it is not me, then it is you.
If it is not sickness, then it is wellness.
If it is not the head, then it is the tale.
If is not God, then it is Satan.
These silent assumptions has overwhelmed our discussions and even our national discourse, which is replete with the blame game and finding scapegoats to hang for our sins.
For instance our gossips are centered on what person A or B did or didn't do but hardly do we gossip about our misdeeds.
We have sadly conditioned ourselves to these limiting views of either it is this or that and wrongfully concluded or blacklisted those our minds suspect.
We have blindly imprisoned many innocent persons in our hearts and shut ourselves or avoided them from even sharing their side of the story.
Lesson:
Let's not be hasty in our conclusion but look at things in their broader perspectives.
Let's not limit ourselves to the confines of our comfort zones but appreciate other views there might be to addressing our challenges, because there are many sides to a case, than just one way.
May God grant us understanding hearts like King Solomon the wise, so that we may be tactful in our dealings with each other.
Have a blessed weekend. God bless πŸ₯
