Be receptive to all

It's a breezy morning but I was getting bored about the unnecessary delay I had been subjected to at the Passport Office. Then a gentleman with Kola-stained teeth and sweat trickling down his sun-burnt face approached. He was selling books on how to write good letters and CVs among others. Aside his unkempt looks, he spoke impeccable English at least to market the books, but his appearance sent a bad impression to all and we somehow avoided him. Then in a quiet mood I revisited the man's visit and asked what if he was Jesus Christ visiting, perhaps I might have failed in giving him a warm reception. We sometimes dismiss or avoid people based on their appearance, creed, disability, our experiences or prejudices or stereotypes or perhaps because we're being too cautious of criminals. But the fact is that even they (the suspected criminals) are dressing well of late. So why must we judge or avoid others by their appearance? Maybe we should be more receptive & spend some moments with them, because it'll surprise you that often it's not money they're all out there looking for, but some form of kindness or inspiration. May God help us see His face in everyone we may encounter this day. Remain Blessed. Good morning
